It wasn’t until chronic stress turned into chronic health issues, that I realized I needed to make some changes in my life, or I’d end up with the short ‘end’ of the stick!

Hi! I’m Dr. Ellen Contente and I’m a Stress Relief Expert! My journey began many years ago with a stressful childhood living in a household with a Bi-Polar parent. I had to tiptoe through my life, constantly stressed and filled with anxiety over when my mom would have another manic episode. The chronic stress created stomach problems that landed me in the emergency room multiple times.
As an adult, I found myself in an extremely stressful ‘sandwich’ situation; high-powered executive career, caring for teenager twins with mental health challenges, and taking care of my mother long-distance. The stress of juggling all those balls was too much. I lost my job and almost my life!
I decided to start my own business to create work/life balance and help others do the same. However, being your own boss turned out to be more stressful than I realized and discovered that Work/Life balance is a myth! But I knew there was a better way of living.
What I needed – and what I wanted to teach others – was how to create Inner-Balance. Because it’s not what’s going on ‘out there’ in our lives that’s stressful, but how we are with ourselves ‘inside’ that determines our health and happiness.
My journey to mastery began with learning everything I could to understand the Mind/Body connection to wellbeing. I’ve spent the past 15+ years studying multiple modalities, perfecting techniques, and creating protocols, such as my own ‘Banish Burnout Blueprint’.
I can honestly say now that I truly ‘Walk the Talk’ and I’m on a mission to help others do the same – without having to go through a struggle to get there!
My Approach
I teach you to recognize your stressors and become acutely aware of the effects of stress in your life. Stressors are the situations, circumstances, and events that trigger us; be that mothers, jobs, mental health challenges, traffic or the weather!
I use the Stress Mastery Questionnaire (SMQ) to help identify the areas of your life that may be contributing to your stress. I also help you bring awareness to your learned unhealthy coping strategies, such as stress eating and drinking, procrastination, and other behaviors. Then we work together to create healthier responses by designing a lifestyle that incorporates evidence-based strategies, tools and techniques to break the stress cycle and create inner-balance.
