SABRINA GONDER

Welcome!  My name is Sabrina Gonder and I’m a recovering stressaholic!I live in Spokane Washington and am the fourth born of twelve children.  I grew up in a very stressful, chaotic and dysfunctional household.  I often joke that we put the D in dysfunction.I married at 21 and had my only child at 26 who had a traumatic birth leading to chronic health issues. His health issues often required me to stay home with him during his first two years of life.  I had a boss at the time that told me that my job was to be perceived as the most important thing in my life.  That day, I knew I needed to leave that job of over six years and work for a person or company with compassion and understanding for my current situation.

I moved on to work as an Activity Director at a local high-end senior living community where I was promoted to Community Manager.  I became totally submerged in my position and often worked sixty plus hours and rarely could I stop thinking about someone or something that needed to be done within the community.  The job consumed me and it wasn’t until after a change of management where I could not ethically work there any longer did I recognize the toll my twelve years there had on me and my family.  I realized that I had put the job and the resident’s needs over mine and my families. I had burnt out my adrenal glands because of the constant stress.  At one point my doctor made me leave work, (I asked if I could go after my shift) and go to the hospital. They did an EKG and I was put on a heart monitor for seven days to make sure my heart function was normal.  I later found out all of the symptoms were caused by stress triggered by a resident’s bipolar behavior who lived in the community.

I have worked in the health and wellness industry for over 25 years and I was looking for a way to help people at an even deeper level and to empower people in need who were looking for solutions to their health and wellness issues.  So many of the people around me were sick and hurting and not getting the help they truly needed.

My Approach

My approach to Stress Mastery is simple.  I listen more, talk less, and meet you where you are.  I do not have a one size fits all approach because we are all individuals and our needs are unique and different.  I will listen to you and come up with a custom plan that works for you and partner with you towards success.

What They Are Saying

Thank you, Sabrina! Like all of us, we can be our own worst enemies and when you take the time to see how your thinking / action / behaviors (any or all) are under our control, we can change anything that we own. Woo hooooo I thank you for caring so much. Many blessings to you today.

I practice this technique very often, when I just need to relax and clear my mind for a moment. When I am beginning my day and need to focus on the tasks that need to be completed. And I have found this a very helpful tool in focusing on my work and getting things accomplished, even with frequent interruptions. I regroup and refocus. In my position there are always interruptions and always will be. The ability to come back and refocus on the previous task is so important to me in my work life.

That night I walked in with a weight off of my shoulders. And well tonight was even better. I feel very confident and I even upped my studying program to include picking out of a hat the names of the techniques to make sure nothing sets me off my game and so that I will actually be able to visualize the technique and not just which order it is on my list. Once again, I just want to let you know how grateful I am for the time you spend with me. You have made a believer out of me.
